Hamersley Netball Club is proud to announce its partnership with Warwick Workout (based at Warwick Stadium) to deliver a netball specific weekly strength and conditioning program.
Knees and ankles are the most commonly injured body parts of netballers. Hamersley wants to change this and keep all its members playing the sport they love without being sidelined by injury.
The strength and conditioning (S&C) program lead by Dr Laurence Houghton (PhD Sports Science) will enable all members to improve their athletic performance and reduce the likelihood of injury. The program is netball specific, and based on resources published by Netball Australia, including the KNEE program and ‘Develop a Diamond’ core competencies.
Club netball is traditionally a train once a week and play once a week sport. Hamersley is leading a culture change in this space, increasing training to twice weekly, one on-court session and one off-court gym session. Hamersley is proud to partner with Warwick Workout to deliver the gym sessions in a safe environment.
Session Days & Times
All Hamersley members can join Warwick Workout. Sessions will run throughout the week. Members to attend ONE session per week. Sessions for 11's, 12's & 13's will be focusing on joint stability and establishing good movement patterns in young netballers.

When registering, you will be asked to preference you session times. Sessions require a minimum of 4 athletes, and can accommodate a maximum of 8.

Sessions will be offered in blocks. New intakes to the program will only be available in the first week of a new block. All payments will be made directly to Warwick Workout.

Block 1 REGISTRATIONS NOW CLOSED Focus: Pre-season Injury Prevention
Duration: 4 weeks
Commencing: 20th March 2017
Registrations Close: 14th March 2017

Block 2 REGISTRATIONS NOW CLOSED Focus: Speed and Agility
Duration: 10 weeks
Commencing: 24th April 2017
Registrations Close: 14th April 2017

  • $15.00 weekly direct debit for S&C sessions only or
  • $19.95 weekly direct debit * (12 month contract) Warwick Workout membership, includes one Hamersley S&C session per week.

Block 3 REGISTRATIONS NOW CLOSED Focus: Core Strength
Duration: 10 weeks
Commencing: 17th July 2017

Cost:

Block 4 Focus: Strength & Endurance
Duration: 10 weeks
Commencing: 9th October 2017
