Curtin Hamersley Comets is a collaboration between Curtin University and Hamersley Netball Club Inc. Awarded a WA Netball League Licence for 2019-2021, Curtin Hamersley Comets will enter teams into the Women’s Open and 20U divisions, and the Men’s Open division.
Curtin University Stadium
Based at Curtin University Stadium, the Comets teams will train in the world class Curtin Stadium and Fitness Centre. The Women's teams will train on-court two mornings a week (6:00 - 7:30am) and the Men's team will train on-court one morning a week (6:00 - 7:30am) with an optional second session. There will also be occasional Sunday morning training sessions for all teams.
Athletes will also be required to complete strength and conditioning training throughout the season - therefore a complimentary membership to the Curtin University Fitness Centre is included with the player fees.
Curtin University Fitness Centre
Details about club commitments and fees will be included in the 2019 Athlete offers, which in accordance with Netball WA will be offered as of 18th December 2018.

Selection for Women’s Team
The Trial Registration Form for the Women’s Open and 20U teams is now open. Registrations close 7pm Thursday 6th December 2018. The non-refundable trial fee is $25.00 payable via credit card.
Two trials are being held for each team.
All trials will be held at Curtin University Stadium, Kent Street, Bentley WA 6102.
Women's Open Team (athletes born 31st December 2003 and before)

Friday 7th December: 7-9pm, and
Friday 14th December: 7-9pm
Women's 20U Team (athletes born between 1st January 1999 - 31st December 2003)

Friday 7th December: 5-7pm, and
Friday 14th December: 5-7pm
We recommend arriving 30 mins before the trial commences.
Athletes trialling should wear a white top and black shorts.
If you are unable to trial (injured or away for both trials) you must still complete the Trial Registration Form and select which team you wish to be considered for and then contact Lyn Pemberton (Selector Convenor) to discuss your options for alternate viewing.
Attendance at both trials is required. If you are unable to attend one of the trials, please advise of this in the Trials Registration form. Curtin Hamersley Comets are aware there is State Team training on Friday 14th December 2018. State Team athletes will not be required to attend the Curtin Hamersley Comets trial on this date and their performance at the first trial on Friday 7th December 2018 will be considered by the selection panel.
Selection for Men’s Team
Representatives from the four WANL clubs with a Men's team licence for 2019-2021 met with Netball WA to discuss the results of the 2018 Men's WANL survey.
After reviewing the survey results and discussing as a group, it was agreed that each WANL club would offer seven players a spot on their Men's list for 2019. The remaining positions in the team would then be offered via a trials process.

Comets Men’s Team still has five positions available. A trial on Friday 14th December 2018, 7pm at Curtin University Stadium will be used to determine the remaining offers. If you are interested in trialling please complete this Trial Registration Form.
