It is important for members to note that WDNA has increased its 2018 affiliation fee by $28.00 per player. The Hamersley Committee has considered the impact of this fee increase, and has decided to decrease the Hamersley component of the 2018 fees to reduce the impact of WDNA’s increase. Hamersley are able to do this as we plan to increase club membership numbers for 2018.

Trials / Grading
The trials/grading process for 2018 has been reviewed to streamline both the on court and off court aspects.

Phase 1 – Trials
New players will trial for the club alongside existing members.

In line with our existing policies:
  • Existing club members (i.e. played the previous year) retain their position at the club for the next season.
  • Former club members (i.e. played previously for the club, but not in the prior season), siblings of an existing member and daughter / granddaughter / niece / cousin of a current / former member will be given preference for a position at the club, subject to positions available and position suitability (team balance), however a position is not guaranteed.
  • New players will trial for a position at the club. Selectors consider new players based on ability, development potential, and position suitability (team balance).

New players must be available for Phase 1 trials. At the end of Phase 1 those who are successful will go through to Phase 2 which will be announced on this website on Saturday 17th February.

Phase 2 – Grading
All club members, including new members, will be graded by selectors into teams. Graders consider ability, development potential and position suitability (team balance).
