Hamersley registered a whopping 26 teams into this season! There are seven teams playing in Open, five in 18U, six in 15U, four in 13U and four teams in 12U. The club had a successful start to the season and after the completion of grading rounds (game 3) Hamersley have 13 teams competing in division one competitions and six teams in division two while the club also has six teams competing in an age group above – what an amazing effort.
So far this season the club has successfully held the first Leadership Session on 19 May which focused on learning about what makes a good leader and how we can all “find our sparkle” with the help from West Coast Fever player Stacey Francis.
The club had a very successful Team Photo day on Sunday 26 May. Thank you and congratulations to our club photographer Linda Firth and all the amazing volunteers; Al Kennedy, Natalie Freeman (& Sophie), Jane White, Vicki Ellery and Danielle Gilsenan who helped the day run smoothly. The photos will be previewed at our Annual Awards Event in October and then added to the website Gallery shortly afterwards.
After their offical photos, Team 3's Head Coach Sarah Fogliani demonstrates her trademark headstand
On Tuesday the 28 May Hamersley hosted a Team Bonding night. Coaches, managers and players were given the opportunity to play games, team bonding exercises, or even go for dinner with a wine or two (strictly 18 years and older for this one) instead of performing on court training sessions to promote growth and unity within our teams.
Our 15U girls enjoyed their bonding night - finishing off the evening with photos and even some funky dance moves
I think it is fair to say that when games and food are involved training attendance was high on the night.
Head Coach Annie McKendry, Assistant Coach Hayley Butler and the girls from Team 14 enjoying their on court dinner between team bonding activities
Thank you to all coaches and managers who helped provide food and ideas for a great night that all our players and coaches will remember.
The girls from Team 24 are swinging into the 2019 season

Cake Stall Report
Come wind, hail or shine - we all love a good cake stall!
The 2019 Hamersley Cake Stall sure was an eventful day, held on 8 June with the first storm of the season! What a successful day it was. A massive congratulation and thank you goes to Sue McKendry and Nicole Fevre for both organising the event and running the stalls on the day.
This year Hamersley had over 31 volunteers who helped run the stalls on the day – what an amazing effort. Thank you to all our volunteer helpers and to everyone who provided delicious goodies; we had quite the range from entire cakes, to cupcakes, ginger bread, brownies, rice cakes and more.
Hamersley Netball Club are very lucky to have a club culture like ours, full of wonderful volunteers who will not only put their hands up initially but also who stick through a stormy day!
Our treasurer, Jackie Horner, has counted $1,310.60 in cash to go into the Hamersley bank. What an outstanding achievement!
Congratulations Annie McKendry!
