Congratulations Janine Friday

Hamersley Netball club were endowed with a once in a lifetime precious gift the day Janine Friday (nee Berry) registered as a player in 1994. A number of years ago Hamersley Netball Club adopted the phrase of “Triple Impact Competitor” which means – personal mastery (making oneself better), leadership (making one’s teammates better), and honoring the game (making the game better). Janine’s voluntary work in netball, setting the standard as a role model, her personality, sportsmanship, integrity, honesty, and kindness personifies this 100%. Every person in netball and in Janine’s life could say without doubt she naturally lives the “Triple Impact Competitor” mantra.
Where to start to acknowledge and pay tribute to this most incredible lady; Janine Friday is the master of juggling full time work, marriage, having 3 beautiful girls, playing for 27 consecutive years for Hamersley (Neenies – Hammers), serving on the HNC Committee for 17 years from 2004 - 2020, volunteering as a HNC coach for 13 years and leading HNC on court as Club Captain from 2003 - 2020.
I have estimated Neen has travelled in excess of 6000kms from Willeton to WDNA and home again to give to her Hammers.
Janine’s coaching record has now met the Hamersley Netball Club Autoparts Toyota Coaching Hall of Fame Award award in 2020.
At the end of the 2020 season Janine will have coached for Hamersley Netball Club for 13 years between 2000 - 2020 with 5 Premierships and 6 Runner Ups. What a tremendous record from player to coach – the club is grateful for every one of those years and the players who were lucky enough to have you will always have an amazing role model to aspire to and during that time Janine has been on the HNC grading committee for an number of years.
Janine has worked her way through the Netball Australia Coach Accreditation pathway and is currently half way though completing her Advanced Coach Accreditation; to personally develop her coaching and be able to pass on her knowledge to the next generation of young netball lovers.
More recently Janine has volunteered to coach for WDNA Rep teams at the Member Championships in 2015, 2017 and 2018. Janine was also the 2019 Premiership coach of the 16U Division for the inaugural 2019 Metro League competition. In 2020 Janine was appointed again as a WDNA Metro League coach to which she is also the recipient for the WNDA Metro League Coach award for 2020.
Janine, you have accumulated an amazing netball record in your 27 years. Hamersley Netball Club Committee and members salute you and thank you on your award and being inducted into the Hamersley Netball Club Autoparts Toyota Coaching Hall of Fame as the 9th recipient.
Much love and respect, Lynni Pemberton
